We are looking for candidates for a Junior research grant at the Molecular Genetics laboratory of the Department of Biotechnologies and Life Sciences (DBSV), University of Insubria, for the project “Towards the development of a microRNA-based screening test for non-small cell lung cancer: application of a novel platform (ODG) for direct quantification of miR-223 from serum”. The gross salary is € 19.367,00 and duration is one year.
The Molecular Genetics laboratory focuses on the investigation of candidate biomarkers to be applied to screening, diagnosis and prognosis of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). The ideal candidate is an entusiasthic person, possessing a PhD, with expertise in cellular and molecular biology; the grantee will have the opportunity to familiarize with digital PCR and to collaborate to the development of novel technologies for the quantitation of circulating microRNAs. Communication and relational skills are appreciated. Availability to move for short periods in collaborating laboratories in other Universities is requested.
