The objective of the three-year PhD program in Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology, coordinated by the Department of Biology and Biotechnology, is the formation of leading scientists capable not only to perform, but also to plan, coordinate and evaluate basic and applied research activities in the fields of biology, biotechnology, biomedicine, food production and environmental assessment. Teaching is in English.
The PhD Program involves 61 faculty members from four departments of the University of Pavia, the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the National Research Council (IGM-CNR) and several European universities.
9 funded by the University of Pavia, 1 funded by “Facing Global Challenges” project, research topic “Emerging Viral Threats”, 1 reserved for students who graduated abroad.
an academic degree awarded in Italy or abroad and recognised in advance as being eligible for the PhD Program. The degree from abroad must be comparable to an Italian university second-level degree in terms of duration, level and disciplinary field.
